Aton Joseph “TC” Castillo

Our resident keyboardist and pianist, Aton, has been playing music since 1996. He graduated at the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Jazz Composition. Aside from being a live performer, he has also worked as a piano teacher and assistant production engineer.

Franklin A. Wharton

Despite being a retired youth advocate and school social worker, Franklin has been a professional musician for many decades. He plays the flute, vibraphone, and saxophone. In his 25-year membership with Sounds of Blackness, Franklin received Grammy awards, gold records, and a platinum record. He has also provided music for the Disney animation, “The Story of John Henry.”

Larry T. McRae

An undoubtedly accomplished bassist, Larry manages the day-to-day operations of his production company. He has also been the head of Instrumental Music Department and Audio Department. In his career, he has produced different albums that have become church classics. Larry also joined famous artists like Roberta Flack, Sadao Watanabe, and other symphony groups in their worldwide tours.

Alvin L. Giles, Jr.

A summa cum laude in Jazz Studies and Commercial Music, Alvin is a young musician who specializes in music production, songwriting, composition, and film scoring. He has also been an active member in the music ministry in their church.

Felix D. Guerra Lanas

The energetic drummer and percussionist of the band, Felix has been hitting the drums since 1977. He has jumped from a local Salsa band to the notorious Madera band and continued accompanying various bands all over the country. Now, Felix plays jazz and Motown music at our club.

Lisa Grant Duguid

With diverse education and training background, Lisa worked for different bands and choirs as a freelance singer. Ranging from 1st soprano to 1st tenor, her voice has always been flexible for any genre – from jazz and R&B to gospel and classical. Now, you can watch her soulful performances every Monday at our club.
